Connecting Every Range of Combat

KCMA’s Filipino and Southeast Asian Martial Arts curriculum blends Filipino Martial Arts with Silat into one adaptable system. Students train with weapons including sticks and blades while learning how the same principles of movement, timing, angles and control carry into striking, trapping, joint locks, takedowns and empty-hand defense. This integrated approach develops coordination, awareness and practical skills across multiple ranges.

Filipino Martial Arts

Drawing from the 12 areas of Kali, our Filipino Martial Arts training explores single and double stick, stick-and-dagger, knife and empty-hand methods—including Panantukan, Sikaran, trapping, joint control and Dumog. Students learn how movement, angles, timing and sensitivity connect these areas into one adaptable system.

Maphalindo Silat

Created by Guro Dan Inosanto from Silat systems of Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia, Maphilindo Silat emphasizes fluid movement, close-range striking, limb control, off-balancing, sweeps and takedowns. I've been to several martial arts schools over the past decade, and KCMA is by far the best. From your first class, it's clear that Coach Keith's knowledge and expertise are exceptional. He's a true martial arts professional who genuinely cares about his students' growth in both combat skills and discipline. Coach Keith always makes himself available before and after classes to review the curriculum and help us fine-tune our form. If you're serious about leveling up your skills and abilities, this is the place to be.

I have been training at KCMA for a few months now, having primarily looked for a gym that offers CSW. As an experienced martial artist who has trained at various academies in various arts/systems, I feel I can gauge the quality of instruction fairly well. I have to say that coach Keith is a very experienced martial artist, who, through his competence, personality, and open-mindedness has already made me better not only at grappling, but also at boxing and kickboxing. The atmosphere at KCMA is very open and welcoming, and even people completely new to martial arts are not overwhelmed or intimidated by what is being taught and how it is being taught. At the same time, experienced practitioners and competitors are being challenged and met at their level, so they can continue to progress. I’m looking forward to continue my martial arts journey at KCMA and would recommend this academy to anyone who is interested in building or advancing a martial arts skill set for themselves or their children.
